Update:
I found a Brooks Y R Johnson Born March 2 1894 Died April 9 1898 His parents were G W and O A Johnson. He is buried in Le Suer County at the Sharon Cemetery.
St Peter and Le Suer are 11 miles apart.

From MJM:
On the index to MN deaths and burials, the parents of Brooks Y Johnson (1894-1898) are listed as George Johnson and Ollie Johnson. The MN marriage index shows a marriage on 11/24/1889 in Le Sueur County between George Johnson and Ollie Wilcox.

    1. Sounds reasonable to me. I was wondering whether Brooksy was just a nickname, in which case it might have been difficult to figure out just who child would have been. But Brooks Johnson is definitely a candidate. How sad he died so young :(
