The photographer is from Fargo North Dakota, Arthur A. Bentley came to Fargo in 1895 to establish a photography business.

He was born in Cass County North Dakota to Edmond F Buchholz (1859 – 1941) and Elizabeth C Fehling (1862 – Mar. 26, 1937 He married Sadie M. and lived in a variety of places; in 1940 the couple lived in Grosse Pointe Farms, Wayne, Michigan where Lloyd was a branch manger involved in typewriter sales. By 1970 they were living in San Jose, CA. It does not appear that they ever had children.
He is Find A Grave Memorial# 120546089.

I hear stories of how people end up in California. It always amazes me that people back then were traveling there just as easily as everyone now goes south to Arizona or Texas.
