Photo Number 1936

This is a photo from Dave’s antique shop in Laporte Minnesota.

ANOTHER Unknown couple Laporte Ant

This is another Friedman Studio Photo at 240 – 242 Cedar Ave in Minneapolis Minn.  1908 to 1915.

This photo features the bride and groom sitting down.  The same three little girls as yesterday are in the photo.  The bride and groom are different.

ANOTHER Unknown couple Laporte Ant

The groom wears a suit with a white bow tie and flowers in his lapel.  The bride wears a white gown with a bridal bonnet trimmed in tendrils of flowers.  She looks to be clutching a bouquet of roses with tulle.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. The three children in this photo and the last photo (#1935) have me wondering what is going on. The children are identically dressed - and nearly identically posed - the littlest one holds the same flower basket (I assume she is a flower girl).

I thought mannequins? but who would use mannequins in a wedding photo??

The bride and groom are in the previous photo aren't the same people in this one. I thought maybe double wedding? Brothers... sisters? Or perhaps the photos are from one wedding and one of the couples are actually best man and matron/maid of honor (two shots from a wedding album?) The other "bride" seems younger. Perhaps the two brides are sisters. The oldest girl looks like the oldest bride (the one in this photo).

    1. I an curious also. I don't think they are mannequins. Perhaps this bride and the other groom are brother and sister and these are nieces or sisters of the ones getting married. Families were large so all ages could be represented. We will never know.

  2. I am guessing a double wedding, just as Iggy suspected. I have one family member, a few generations back--about this same time period--in which siblings married their respective spouses in the same double ceremony. I imagine it would be a simple matter to then have all the photographs taken, but each couple wanting their own, of course, would yield this result. Of course, it's only a guess--and wouldn't we all like to know their names?!?! They did make lovely settings, though, didn't they?
