"Clarence L. Burd was born May 23, 1876. He spent a number of years working alongside his father learning the mercantile trade and was well prepared to step into his father’s shoes. On September 29, 1896 he married Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bingaman. Together Clarence and Lizzie were the parents of four children: Mildred, Lucille, Gladys, and John Nevin."

Elizabeth H. Bingaman Burd was born March 13 1875 and Died December 18 1951, she is buried in Old Cedar Cemetery, Swengel, Union County PA 

Children found in the sane cemetery are Mildred Evelyn Burd Ruhl, November 30 1900 - August 15, 1983.  Lucille E. Burd Adama March 20 1903 - September 25, 1977

    3. Thank you for preserving and sharing the photograph of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Burd. Since it has been some time since I wrote the article I had to go back to my December 2009 issue so I could familiarize myself with the Burd family of Swengel, PA. Your website is such a treasure, and what you are doing by preserving these old photographs is such a great gift. Oftentimes I see box lots of old family photographs being sold at public auctions as they have no interest to the younger generation. It is so unfortunate.
      Lizzie Burd had four children, and I think that some of her grandchildren might still live in Union County, PA. Perhaps they would be interested in seeing a photograph of their grandmother when she was young. Keep up the good work, and if I can locate any of Lizzie’s descendants I will point them toward your website.
