This is a snapshot from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
A wool swim suit and one of those rubber bathing caps that made your head sweat. She is at the beach, there is a shovel in the background and what looks to be a cottage.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again. It is hot here in Minnesota and miserable. I am trying my best to stay cool:)
Oh I remember those swim caps!
ReplyDeleteThat's a mighty big shovel for making sand castles...
ReplyDeleteDid those swim caps actually work or were they just for "style" (although I can't see it!)
They fit so tight that they hurt my head..but yes they kept your hair dry. Not sure why that was important anymore:)
DeleteGirls were required to wear swim caps at public pools here in Bakersfield, California in the 1960s. The reason was to keep hair out of the pumps. However, boys with longer hair than me didn't have to wear a cap.
ReplyDeleteI hated those swim caps. They never fit my big head and gave me a headache, but my hair did stay dry.
