From Iggy:
This may be "our" Laura
Laura E Bernard (b. abt 1896 in Iowa) living in West Salem, Polk, Oregon, a young, single, public school teacher and daughter of widowed Theodore Bernard in the 1920 US Census. Laura's mother was Jessie Bernard (b. Mar 1871 d.1920).
She is very pretty. It must have been grand to have had this photo made.

ReplyDeleteIf this is the "right" Laura, she might have known the Pearson girls (Gertie and Nora) from Iowa and/or have been their children's teacher?
Simple clothes, but very pretty. She looks like a school teacher!

It's been interesting seeing the links between Oregon and North Dakota in this series of pictures. As Iggy mentioned, there must be some sort of Pearson connection.
