Super! The background of this snapshot also shows a hill that I would like to be sledding down lickety-split. But there isn't much in this snap to aid in dating it but maybe it dates to about 1950. And, yes, the cute little boy does appear as though he is cold. No wonder about that; he is not adequately dressed. I suppose his mom and/or dad wanted to take a picture of him so took him outside into the good light. I hope they didn't leave him there. My imaginary tale to go with this snap is that the boy's mother wanted to take a picture of him to send to her husband, the boy's father, who was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
That outfit does look more like a jump suit than a snow suit. And no boots. No wonder he was cold! Of course, if it was the kind of temps you've been having lately, I wouldn't blame him for feeling cold, no matter how well he was dressed!
I am wondering if this is more a come-outside-and-let-me-snap-a-picture-of-your-new-Christmas-gift-so-I-can-send-it-to-grandma routine.

I agree with Jacqi - this is a "take the boys photo for Granny" sort!
